Southington Officials Seeking Engineer for Spring Street Bridge Project

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The town is looking for a consulting engineer to assist with the replacement of the bridge on Spring Street over Quinnipiac River.

The bridge has been designated for "complete replacement to address the poor condition of the existing bridge deck and the scour critical nature of the existing bridge," according to a project outline.

A new single-span bridge, with a reinforced concrete deck on steel girders, will be built, accordin gto a project outline.

The estimated construction cost is $3.1 million,

It is estimated that the construction will take one construction season (nine to 12 months) to complete, town officials said.
