Southington Officials Touting Housing Rehab Loan Program
Qualified Southington residents can apply for the housing rehab loans.

SOUTHINGTON, CT —The town of Southington has a grant for housing rehabilitation available for qualified residents whose homes need work but cannot afford the cost of repairs.
The town is seeking qualified residents to participate in the program. Eligible improvements include but are not limited to roofs, furnaces, hot water heaters, windows, doors, septic, electrical, plumbing and ADA modifications.
The program is funded by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development and the state Department of Housing, allows eligible Southington residents to make needed health and safety improvements to their homes through loans at zero percent interest, town officials said.

Loan repayment is deferred until change of title to home, town officials said.
Applications for participation in the program must be received on or before April 30, town officials said.

The program requires no out of pocket costs.
To qualify for the loan, homeowners must have at least 10 percent equity in the home, be current on taxes and have an income not exceeding HUD’s income limits for the Town of Southington. HUD’s income limit for a single person household is $44,650.00 and $65,700.00 for a family of four.
