Southington Party City Store Doomed For Closure
The Southington Party City store will not survive a rash of previously announced closings.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Party City store will not survive a rash of previously announced closings involving the chain.
The store at 750 Queen St. was decorated with signs announcing close-out discounts this week and a staff member answering the phone Wednesday morning said the shuttering of the Southington store should be completed by mid-January.
The staff member said the timetable was outlined in a recent corporate announcement.

In an August earnings report, Party City officials mentioned a "previously announced planned closing" of about 45 locations and added that the company will close an additional 10 stores throughout the year, for a total of approximately 55 store closures.

"Party City in Southington, CT located at 750 Queen St. is open for business and will be for the next few months. Party City routinely evaluates our portfolio of stores in response to ongoing consumer, market and economic changes that naturally arise in the business. After careful consideration, the Southington, CT store location will close in February 2020. Party City customers in the area will still be able to find the products they love in-store at the nearby Party City locations in Waterbury (910 Wolcott Street), Newington (3087 Berlin Turnpike), Simsbury (530 Bushy Hill Road), as well as online through www.partycity.com."
