Southington Patch Letter: Supporting Dawn Anastasio For BOE

SOUTHINGTON, CT — To the Editor:

Dawn Anastasio is a dedicated and caring member of the Southington community. Dawn has always been an active supporter of students through Northern Bound Rescue, a small non-profit organization she founded that is based in Southington.

Northern Bound Rescue fosters dogs from kill shelters in the south, and I had the pleasure of volunteering there when I was a high school student. Dawn opened many doors for my education throughout the four years I volunteered at the rescue. Her trust, support, and dedication to my education helped me learn several skills pertinent to my future career as a veterinarian. Dawn taught me how to educate the public and engage with my community, among other skills that I continue to utilize as a current veterinary student.

I believe that Dawn Anastasio's support of and dedication to the education of students would make her an invaluable asset to the Southington Board of Education.
