Southington PD Gifted Life-Saving Protection

Two civic groups recently collaborated to donate a special bulletproof tactical vest to the Southington Police Department.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Thanks to two local civic organizations, Southington's police force has a new layer of protection in their quest to fight crime.

The Southington Police Department Wednesday said Southington Unico and Southington Rotary Club recently donated a Special Response Tactical Vest.

The tactical vest is equipped with essential features designed to withstand various challenges encountered in law enforcement.

"This invaluable contribution enhances the safety and effectiveness of our officers in our Regional Emergency Response Team," wrote the SPD in a statement.

"The generous support from Southington Unico and Southington Rotary underscores their unwavering commitment to the well-being of our community."

Southington Police Department Chief Jack Daly said he was grateful.

"The safety of our officers is paramount, and the donation of this tactical vest significantly enhances our ability to protect and serve the residents of Southington," he said in a statement.

"We are incredibly grateful to Southington Unico and Southington Rotary for their generous contribution."

Both organizations, Southington Unico and Southington Rotary have a long-standing history of philanthropy and community engagement, police said.

"Their continuous support reinforces the strong bond between law enforcement and the community they serve, fostering a safer and more resilient environment for all," wrote the SPD.
