Southington PD Seeks 3 Suspects In 2 Separate Thefts

The SPD this week is asking the public to help it ID a man who stole a purse from a car and two women who shoplifted from Target.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Local police this week are asking for the public's help in solving two recent crimes — one a purse theft from a vehicle, the other a shoplifting incident at a major local retailer.

• On Tuesday night, the Southington Police Department released surveillance images of a male suspect believed to have stolen a purse from a vehicle on Oct. 26.

According to the SPD, the male suspect stole the purse at the Cadillac Ranch in Southington, then used a debit card removed from the purse at the 7-Eleven store on Queen Street.

The surveillance image from the store showed a male suspect with a black hooded sweatshirt that had "Backwoods" written on the front.

• On Monday, the SPD released surveillance images from the Southington Target store of two female suspects who are believed to have shoplifted $788 worth of items on Oct. 31.

The females stole the items at about 10:51 a.m. on Halloween at the store, which is at 600 Executive Blvd., Southington.

The requests also come as police reported that several suspects have been identified by police with the help of tipsters.
