Southington PD Steps Up At Special Fundraiser Sunday
The department took part in the annual 'Run the Course' benefit 5K run/walk at a local country club.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Local law enforcers were out in full force Sunday for a good cause that promises to aid their brothers and sisters in blue.
On Sunday, Sept. 15, many members of the Southington Police Department participated in “Run the Course” at Hawks Landing Country Club in Southington.

Run the Course was a 5K run/walk along the paths of Hawks Landing in remembrance for those lives lost in the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001.
All proceeds raised during the event will be donated to veterans and first responders with disabilities, local police and fire departments and to individuals with special needs.

"It was a great day running and walking the course and getting to speak to Veterans and members of the Southington Community," wrote the SPD.
