Southington PD's K-9 Program Receives Funding Boost
The department recently announced grant funding to help it operate its police dog program.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Police Department has received a grant to support its K9 Unit, department officials announced recently.
Funding was provided by the Jacob Perkins Memorial Fund at the Main Street Community Foundation, according to a statement from the department.
The grant will help cover training, equipment, and ongoing care for K9 Kay, a member of the department’s K9 Unit.

Officials said the funding will help ensure the department “remains prepared to serve and protect the Southington community.”
The department thanked the foundation and the Jacob Perkins Memorial Fund for their continued support of public safety initiatives.
