Southington Police Arrest Accused Christmastime TV Thief

He was charged in a warrant.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - A man who has been on the naughty list since Christmastime has been charged with fifth-degree larceny, Southington police said. 

Police said on Thursday that James Huntley, 23 of Burlington, was arrested on a warrant on June 9.

Huntley was processed that day, released on a $10,000 non-surety bond, and is to appear in Bristol Superior Court on June 20, police said.

The warrant alleges that on Dec. 14, at 3:13 p.m. Huntley entered the electronics department of the Target store, 600 Executive Boulevard, in Southington. 

Huntley selected three televisions and a sound bar and placed them in a shopping cart, according to the warrant.

Huntley then walked through the store and out the front door, placed the TVs and the sound bar into a white sedan and left the area in a westerly direction, according to the warrant.

Police said the items taken were a 32-inch LG television valued at $219, a 32-inch Samsung TV that retails for $229. a 28--inch Vizio TV that costs $199.99 value), and one a Vizio sound bar valued at $179, police said.
