Southington Police Bust Suspected Junior Prom Drinking Party
An adult was arrested for allegedly providing a room at the Econolodge where minors were drinking, police said.

Southington Police broke up an alleged underage drinking party at the Econolodge after junior prom.
Police were patrolling in an effort to curb underage drinking after the program on March 28, said Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz, police spokesman. Funding was provided by the STEPS Coalition.
Officers went to the Econolodge on Meriden Waterbury Road and found evidence of drinking games being played inside, Dobratz said.

Ten minors, including a 19-year-old, an 18-year-old, four 17-year-olds, three 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old were charged with possession of alcohol by a minor.
Police also arrested Gregory Sioch, 39, of Southington because he allegedly provided the room. He was charged with permitting a minor to possess alcohol.
