Southington Police Charge Man In Home Depot Theft Case
Southington police have charged a man in a Home Depot theft case.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — An arrest has been made in Southington in relation to thefts at Home Depot, police said.
The case dates back to Oct. 1, when officers responded to the Home Depot, 89 Interstate Park, to
investigate a report of a trespassing incident.

Home Depot loss prevention staffers said that two men, one identified as 30-year-old Recheem Miller, were observed in the store and were believed to be associated with thefts at other Home Depot locations, a report indicates.
The thefts involved stolen merchandise being returned at "an alternate
location," including Southington, police said.

Police said that, based on previous larceny arrests, Miller and his accomplice had been prohibited from returning to all Home Depot stores.
According to a report, prior to police arriving, Miller and his accomplice recognized loss prevention staffers and exited the store. They then entered a vehicle and fled southbound on Queen Street.
An officer attempted to putt the car over, but the vehicle failed to stop and went through several red lights, according to a report.
On Aug. 30, Hartford police took Miller into in custody and he was transported to Southington.
Miller' charges include:
- First-degree criminal trespass
- Operating a vehicle while under suspension
- Improper use of a marker plate
- Failure to obey an officer's signal
- Failure to obey a traffic signal
- Reckless driving
Miller was released on a $5,000 Non-surety bond with a court date of Sept. 8.
