Southington Police: Hartford Man Nabbed For Altering Checks
He schemed deposits, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - A Hartford man is facing check forging charges related to incidents in town, police said.
Southington police on Tuesday announced the May 20 arrest of Frederick Savage, 32 of Hartford, on two counts of second-degree forgery and two counts of third-degree larceny, along with two counts of second-degree breach of peace.
The arrest warrant for Savage claims he altered and subsequently cashed checks in his name that had been written out to other companies by Chuck and Eddie’s of Southington.

The altered checks were then deposited into Savage’s bank account. Between Feb. 11 and Feb. 16 and Savage then withdrew money from the account totaling $2,341, according to the warrant.
