Southington Police Investigate TD Bank Robbery

The suspect escaped with cash from the bank.

Police are investigating after the TD Bank on Queen Street was robbed in Southington.

Officers responded to the robbery, which was reported shortly after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, said Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz, police spokesman.

The suspect entered through the front door of the bank, displayed a handgun and demanded money from tellers.

The suspect then exited the building through the rear door of the parking lot and headed toward Newell Street.

Police provided the following description of the male suspect“...approximately 5-feet-8-inches tall with a medium build wearing a black knee length winter coat with a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath it. The sweatshirt hood was pulled over a gray brimmed baseball hat and the suspect was wearing a black ski mask which only exposed his eyes and mouth. The suspect was wearing light colored gloves, and brandished a black colored handgun in his right hand. The suspect was wearing dark colored pants and gray sneakers.”
