Southington Police: Kid Goes Berserk In House, Adult Fires Gun Into Ceiling In Domestic Incident

Three people are facing charges.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - Police said they had to break up a Monday night family dispute in which a stuff was thrown around a Hickory Hill Road house by a juvenile and a shotgun was discharged into a ceiling by an adult.

According to a news release issued by Southington police, officers were called to 39 Hickory Hill Road for a reported family dispute.

It was reported that a juvenile was out of control and throwing items in the residence, according to a news release.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that a female who was both arrested and considered a victim had allegedly pointed a shotgun at the juvenile during the argument and then shot the shot gun into the ceiling during the argument, according to a news release.

During the course of the investigation officers found that a male who was both arrested and considered a victim came home after learning of the incident, according to a news release.

After the man came home, the juvenile began to "act out" again and attempted to strike the man, but he was able to subdue the juvenile, according to a news release.

It was also alleged that during the incident, the male pointed a handgun at the juvenile and threatened to shoot the juvenile, police said.

Officers found evidence that a gun had been fired inside the residence, according to a news release.

The man had allegedly hidden the shotgun after learning of the incident and neither the shotgun nor handgun was stored in a proper manner, police said.

The female arrestee/victim was charged with disorderly conduct, first-degree threatening, interfering with an officer, risk of injury to a minor, the unlawful discharge of a firearm, two counts of unlawful storage of a firearm and reckless endangerment. She was being held on a $75,000 bond.
