Southington Police: Man Pulls Gun During Domestic Dispute

He was arrested on several charges.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Southington man is accused of pulling a gun during a domestic dispute, police said.

On Sunday at 10:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to 95 Knowles Ave. on for a reported domestic

dispute, according to a report.

Bernhard Kaschke, 48 of Southington was arrested and charged with second-degree threatening, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree breach of peace and unlawful restraint, police said.

Police said Kaschke was involved in a verbal argument, which escalated, police said.

Kaschke took a handgun out of a closet and then allegedly pushed the victim down on a bed, stood over the victim and held the victim by the shoulder down on the bed, according to a report.

Kaschke allegedly held the gun against the victim's neck and threatened to kill the victim and himself. according to a report.

The victim was able to exit the bedroom and called 911, police said.

The incident is categorized as domestic violence and no further information on the victim will be released, police said.

The handgun involved in the incident was seized by officers, according to a report.
