Southington Police Plan Drunk Driving Checkpoint
It's part of the department's ongoing effort to enforce drunk driving laws and reduce traffic incident.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — As part of law enforcement's ongoing battle against drunk driving and the accompanying traffic accidents, local police Friday night will be out in full force.
The Southington Police Department said Tuesday it will be conducting the first of two checkpoints on Friday Feb. 24.
The checkpoint will take place on Queen Street in the area of Interstate 84 from 8 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. on Sunday, police said.

This checkpoint is part of the Southington Police Department’s effort to reduce accidents and injuries related to driving under the influence and help provide safe travel.
Signs will be posted in the area advising motorists of the checkpoint.
