Southington Liquor Store Held Up At Gunpoint
Robbery similar to two other incidents in nearby Bristol.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Local police are investigating an armed robbery Wednesday night at a local liquor store on West Street.
According to the Southington Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Wine Works store on 1700 West St. at about 7:30 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery.
In a statement issued Thursday morning, police said officers were already aiding police in Bristol, who were investigating multiple, similar armed robberies at 192 North St. and Middle Street in that city.

"Initial investigation revealed that a Black male wearing a mask, black-hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants had entered the store and displayed a handgun," Southington police said in the statement, which was issued at 7:14 a.m. Thursday.
Police said the suspect then fled the scene on foot across the parking lot with an unknown amount of cash.

According to police, the suspect then escaped in what is believed to be a white Buick Encore with a white female in the vehicle.
That vehicle then left the area southbound on West Street, toward Interstate 84, according to police.
No injuries were reported.
