Southington Police Pull Over More Than 150 Vehicles in Week-Long Seat Belt Enforcement Initiative
And it was not just about bucking up.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Soutington police on Wednesday release the statistics from a seven-day seat belt enforcement program.
The program was funded through the federal Click It of Ticket initiative. Rovinmg patrols were conducted from Nov. 21 through 28.

- 38 Motorists were cited for failure to wear seat belts
- 8 Motorists were cited for cell phone violations
- 7 Motorists were cited for speeding
- 1 Motorist was cited for an an uninsured motor vehicle
- 39 motorists were cited for other traffic violations
- In addition to the citations listed. there were also 60 written warnings and 13 verbal
- warnings issued during the time frame for various violations, police said.
- In all, police made 166 total stops.
