Southington Police Searching For Wal-Mart Robber

Images have been released by authorities.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - Police have released images of an attempted robbery Friday at the Queen Street Wal-Mart as they hunt for the suspect.

On Friday at approximately 8 a.m. officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Walmart, located at 235 Queen Street in Southington.

The suspect fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival.

The suspect is being described as a black male wearing jeans, a blue baseball cap, a two-tone gray shirt with blue sleeves, approximately 5-foot-8 and weighing between 160 and 170 pounds, with a well‐ trimmed beard and hair.

Police said the suspect walked up to one of the registers with a bottle of iced tea. As the clerk attempted to ring out the iced tea, the suspect lifted his shirt and showed the clerk that he had a handgun tucked into his waistband, police said.

The suspect then demanded money from the register, police said.

The clerk yelled and the suspect fled without taking any money, police said.

The suspect was seen entering a light blue Scion TC in the parking lot, police said.

Witnesses provided information on the vehicle’s plate. It was described as an unknown out of state plate bearing the numbers 300 followed by an unknown combination of three letters, police said.

The vehicle fled the plaza parking lot and went an undetermined direction on Queen Street, police said.
