Southington Police Seek Help Solving Bank Robbery
The People's United Bank branch in the local Stop & Shop was robbed on Monday evening.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Local police Tuesday issued a call for assistance as they investigate a bank robbery inside a Stop & Shop supermarket in town on Monday.
According to a release issued Tuesday, on Monday, at about 6 p.m., police were called to People’s United Bank, which is in the interior of Stop & Shop, located at 505 N. Main St.
Police said investigation revealed two males had approached two separate teller windows and provided the tellers with a note demanding money, leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash shortly thereafter.

Both males were wearing surgical style masks and hats that obscured their faces.
The males were described as being white, approximately 5-feet-8-inches to 5-feet-10-inches tall, approximately 25-30 years of age, having average to muscular build, police said in a statement.

There were no weapons displayed or implied during the robbery and there is no vehicle information or photographs to release at this time.
The Southington Police Department’s Detective Bureau is actively investigating the incident and working with surrounding agencies.
