SOUTHINGTON, CT — One of the Southington Police Department's new year's resolutions is to hire new officers to join its ranks.

Recently, the department issued a call for applicants.

The job does come with some prerequisites, according to the SPD. They include:

• Being a Certified Police Officer with the State of Connecticut.

• Completing the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association (CPCA) Certified Police Officers Written Examination. CPCA Website: https://www.cpcanet.org/

All applications and communications with the department must come via e-mail through PoliceApp.com, with individual accounts from applicants being checked regularly.

"This process will proceed at a rapid pace," wrote the SPD. "The Southington Police Department will determine the hiring schedule and applicants will be required to be available during the selection process. We look forward to interacting with you during our selection process."
