Southington Prepping For Fall

Town is looking for bids to rent leaf vacuum and the necessary laborers for 2022 autumn leaf cleanup operations.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — There are still a few weeks until summer, but town officials are already preparing for the season of falling leaves and more crisp temperatures.

Thursday, the town announced it is accepting bids for the rental of Vac-All's for the 2022 fall leaf collection season.

These are the machines that go around town and suck up the leaves left by the roadside.

Bids will be accepted at the Office of the Southington Town Manager, 75 Main St., Southington until 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at which time they will be opened and read publicly.

Specifications for the Vac-All bid may be obtained at the Southington Highway/Parks Department Garage, Della Bitta Drive, Plantsville, Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or at www.southington.org.

Meanwhile, the town is also seeking bids for temporary labor for the 2022 fall leaf collection season.

Bids will be accepted at the same location as the leaf vacuum job bids.
