New Adult Housing Community Up For Southington PZC Action
The matter was tabled twice in October as the applicants needed more time to prepare plans for the town.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Plans to build a new adult housing development in town are still on hold, with the Southington Planning and Zoning Commission, again, tabling the matter for the second time in October.
However, the proposal is on the agenda of Tuesday's Nov. 1 Southington Planning and Zoning Commission agenda.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at the John Weichsel Municipal Center, 196 N. Main St., Southington.

Like members did Oct. 3, the PZC Oct. 18 tabled three agenda items linked to Southington-based AA Denorfia Building & Development's plans to build an "active adult housing development" in town.
The developer is seeking both special permit and site plan approval for the project, which would be built at 570 Meriden Waterbury Turnpike.

In addition to those approvals, a public hearing must take place prior to those votes, a hearing that had also been tabled, but is tentatively slated for Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Though it is unclear why the matter was tabled Oct. 18, the action was tabled earlier because the applicant needed more time to fine tune preparations with the town.
According to project plans, the development would consist of 23 single-family units and require connection to sewers, water, utilities and storm drainage.
It would also be served by a private road, according to the proposal.
Property abutters have been notified of the potential development and they, along with the rest of the public, can testify before the town's top land-use board.
