Southington Rallies For Little Girl Battling Brain Cancer
A benefit fundraiser is slated for Sunday at the local drive-in movie theater and a GoFundMe page has been set up.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington community is rallying around a local preschooler who is battling terminal brain cancer.
On Sunday, Oct. 22, a fundraiser is slated at the Southington Drive-In Pavilion, 995 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, Southington. It will take place from noon to 4 p.m.
The little girl's name is Emma and she's the daughter of Southington residents Evan Clemens and Andrea Altman.

Battling Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG), a rare form of brain cancer, Emma was diagnosed with the disease just after she turned 3.
Sunday's fundraiser will feature food and raffles inside the pavilion at the drive-in movie theater. The suggested donation is $20 a person.

Proceeds will help Emma's family with medical and personal expenses associated with her care.
"Please help us provide their family with the love and support they need so they can focus all their attention on spending quality time with their beautiful daughter," reads a promotional flyer on the event posted on the Southington Fire Department Facebook page.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been set up by family friend Allyson Nardi for Clemens to raise money for expenses associated with Emma's situation.
As of Friday afternoon, $17,415 had been raised toward the $50,000 goal, according to GoFundMe.
