Southington Ready to Fix Intersection Near Trail, But is the State?
State funding seems to be holding up a major realignment project in Southington.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Town officials are ready and willing to realign the tricky, five-way intersection where Curtiss and Hart streets meet the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail, but the project is dependent on state funding.
Town Council members endorsed the project at a meeting last Friday.
Bids were solicited and came in essentially on-budget at about $350,000, town officials said. Funds, however, was frozen by state officials in 2016.

One of the reasons for the work is to make it safer for those using the trail to cross the intersection, town officials said.
