Southington Resident Wins At Powerball

The winning ticket was purchased at a Southington convenience store last week.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A local resident recently hit is pretty big in the multi-state Powerball game, though not that big.

Still, the Southington resident isn't likely complaining too much.

According to the Connecticut Lottery Corp., the individual won $50,000 on Sept. 22 playing the drawing game with a ticket purchased at a local convenience store.

The winning ticket was purchased at Dairy Farms, 68 Berlin St., Southington.

Powerball is a multi-state, numbers drawing game that can bring with it a staggering jackpot if a player beats the odds and wins, currently featuring an $850,000,000 jackpot.

In this case, the $2 game resulted in a $50,000 payout, which is still not a bad investment.
