Southington School System Job Fair Aims To Fill Positions

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The local school system is looking to fill several openings in its ranks, and a special job fair later this week aims to help match potential employees with employers.

Southington Public Schools will host a job fair on Thursday, Jan. 18, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the John Weichsel Municipal Center, 200 N. Main St., Southington.

Pre-registration is recommended, but walk-ins are also welcome.

"The job fair is a great opportunity for job seekers in Southington and surrounding
areas to explore a new job or new career opportunity," wrote the Southington school system in an announcement.

"Anyone looking for a change or who might be graduating and ready for a certified position is encouraged to attend."

The district has certified and classified positions available including: teachers at all grade levels; special education teachers; a school psychologist; paraeducators; tutors; substitute teachers; and bus drivers, among other jobs.

Southington Public Schools administrators and staff will be available to meet with
prospective employees about immediate openings and anticipated vacancies.

In addition, there will also be a representative from New Britain Transportation to meet with anyone interested in becoming a bus driver.

It is recommended that attendees bring copies of their resume, or begin the process
of applying online, before Jan. 18.

However, there will also be staff available to assist with the application process while attending the fair.
