Southington Schools Remember Several Who Died Last Month

The board of education earlier this month honored five educators who passed away in recent weeks.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Local school officials recently honored several members of the Southington School System community who died recently.

At their last meeting Jan. 12, the Southington Board of Education had a moment of silence for five former school employees/officials, all of whom died in December.

They were:

• Nicholas DePaola, who died Dec. 1, 2022.

He was hired as director of elementary Education in September 1970 and served as a member of the Southington Board of Education.

• Madeline Zoni died Dec 9, 2022.

She was a paraeducator at Kelley Elementary School from September 1969 until her retirement in June 1990.

• Raoul Roy Rodriguez died on Dec. 15, 2022.

He served as director of continuing deucation for 26 years from January 1986 until his retirement in October 2012.

• Alison Goff died Dec. 22,2022.

She was a paraeducator at Southington High School since September 2022.

• Hilary DiMauro died on Dec. 27, 2022.

She worked in Southington as a substitute teacher since March 2022.
