Southington Seeks Emergency Dispatchers

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Want to help your community and, possibly, save lives?

The Southington Police Department may have a job for you.

The department is currently looking for an entry level and certified public safety dispatchers to help get emergency responders to emergencies and provide a friendly voice for those needing help.

The pay is $29.09 an hour for part-time work and $32.93 for full time hours, according to a release issued by the department.

Dispatchers are required to dispatch police, fire and provide EMD services.

Minimum application qualifications are:
• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a G.E.D.
• Be a citizen of the United States of America.
• Possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

Candidates must take or have a current CPCA written test score within six months of their
application date for the dispatching position. The passing score is 70 percent or higher.
