Southington Slammed In Shoplifting Spree: Police

Local police have issued multiple alerts regarding incidents impacting Southington retailers over the past couple of months.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Local police in the past week have issued multiple bulletins regarding a wave of holiday season shoplifting incidents around town.

The Southington Police Department, through its Facebook page, issued alerts seeking the identity of several suspects wanted in connection with those incidents, which date back to last month.

As part of those alerts, the department posted surveillance images of the suspects from the establishments.

The following local shoplifting suspect alerts have been issued:

• On Nov. 19, the SPD posted an image of a male suspect accused of passing a fake $100 bill at the Chik-Fil-A fast food restaurant at 801 Queen St.

Police said this is the second time the suspect has used funny money at the restaurant.

According to the SPD, the incident happened at 10:53 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18.

• Sunday night, Nov. 24, the SPD posted an image of a female suspect accused of stealing $150 worth of items from a "business in Southington."

The SPD did not disclose the name of the business impacted but said that the incident was on Oct. 21 at about 9:22 p.m.

• Also Sunday night, Nov. 24, the SPD posted an image of another female suspect, who was accused of stealing $130 worth of items from a Southington business.

The SPD did not disclose the name of the business targeted but said it happened Thursday, Nov. 7, at about 5:37 p.m.

• Finally, on Sunday night, Nov. 24, the SPD posted images of two female suspects believed to have shoplifted about $460 in items from the Southington Target store, 600 Executive Blvd South in Southington.

Police said the theft was on Friday, Nov. 22, at about 5:37 p.m.
