Southington State Aid Would Take $2.5M Hit in Malloy's Plan
Southington was slated to receive more than $22 million in fiscal year 2019; now it would less than $20 million if Malloy gets his way.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - The bad news keeps coming for Connecticut municipalities as the state attempts to claw out from under its budget mess.
Under Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's revised, proposed adjustments to the fiscal year 2019 budget previously adopted by the legislature state municipal aid would be cut nearly $100 million - both in the education and non-education side.
For Southington, it would be a 11 percent cut from the previously approved $22.1 million total - to $19.7 million.
