Southington Stuff-a-Cruiser On Tap for Saturday
The annual gift drive is designed to help needy area families.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Stuff-a-Cruiser event is slated for this weekend in Southington.
On Saturday, officers, civilian personnel, family members, and cadets from the Southington Police Department will be at Southington Wal-Mart collecting toys and gifts.
The event is slated for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Walmart is located at 235 Queen St.

Stuff-a-Cruiser originated with one officer trying to help out one family who had its Christmas stolen away from and has grown into an annual tradition.
This year, as in years past, Southington police are asking for the public’s help in collecting items for not only
younger children but teens and pre-teens as well.

Items include clothing, blankets, bedding, coats and other winter outerwear, shoes and other needed items. All of the items collected will be donated to Southington Community Services and will be
distributed to needy families in the greater Southington Area.
In the past the gift drive has generated large amounts of donations, and has helped out families during the holiday season.
Miss Southington Karla Aponte Roque and Miss Southington Outstanding Teen
Sydney Goodrich will be on-hand from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
