Southington Cops: Teen, Juveniles Were Burglarizing a Neighborhood on Sunday

The teen is facing a number of charges.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington Police said a teen arrested on Sunday for a variety of theft-related charges was making his way through a neighborhood with some buddies and rummaging through sheds and cars.

Police on Wednesday released more details about the arrest of Nolan Sorber, 18, of Zwicks Farms Road in the Plantsville section of Southington. His charges first appeared in a log entry posted by police.

  • Possession of alcohol by a minor.
  • Five counts of third-degree burglary.
  • Five counts of sixth-degree larceny.
  • Third-degree criminal trespass.
  • Interfering with officers.
  • Four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Five counts of conspiracy to commit third-degree Burglary
  • Five counts of conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny
  • Conspiracy to commit third-degree criminal trespass
  • Four Counts of conspiracy to possess drug paraphernalia.

Police said that on Sunday at about 5:25 a.m., a resident of Park View Drive contacted police headquarters to
report seeing three males looking into vehicles.

Officers responded and the witness directed them to the area where where the males were last seen, according to a police report.

Officers checked the area and found Sorber and two juveniles hiding in the area, a report indicates.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the three went through several vehicles and sheds in the
area and stole numerous items, a report indicates.

The items taken ranged Items ranging from sunglasses to small power tools and equipment, police said .

Sorber was also found to be in possession of alcohol and different pipes and items commonly used to smoke
marijuana, a report indicates.

The bond for Sorber was set at $25,000 and he was given a court date of Aug. 29, according to police records.
