Southington Volleyball Standout Commits To Division I College

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Years of practices, high school matches and trips around the country for national club tournaments have helped Southington High School senior Lily Eidukaityte reach a goal she has been pursuing for much of her life.

Eidukaityte, 17, has verbally committed to play NCAA Division I volleyball at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, N.Y.

The 6-foot-2 outside hitter plans to study business while continuing her volleyball career at the collegiate level.

"I'm really excited and grateful for the opportunity to play Division I volleyball at Le Moyne," Eidukaityte said. "I'm looking forward to continuing to grow as a player while studying business. I'm very thankful for my coaches, teammates, and family who have supported me along the way."

Eidukaityte is in her eighth year playing volleyball and has spent the past several years competing at the national club level, traveling to major tournaments around the country.

She has also developed into one of Southington's leading players.

Eidukaityte was named All-Central Connecticut Conference as a junior after recording 232 kills. She entered her senior season with 405 varsity career kills and has since increased that total to 465.

Her senior season has already included a milestone performance.

Eidukaityte recorded 37 kills against Maloney, a modern-era Southington High School record for kills in a single match, according to information provided by her family.

The performance also earned her recognition by GameTimeCT among the state's top performers.

Her accomplishments have extended beyond volleyball.

Eidukaityte carries a 4.2 weighted grade-point average while balancing high school competition, academics, and national-level club volleyball.

Eidukaityte was born and raised in Connecticut and grew up in Southington.

Her mother immigrated to the United States from Lithuania, and Eidukaityte has maintained a strong connection to her family's Lithuanian heritage.

Now in her final high school season, Eidukaityte will have an opportunity to add to her Southington career before making the jump to Division I competition.

For Eidukaityte, the commitment represents the next stage of a volleyball journey that began eight years ago — and an opportunity to continue pursuing both her athletic and academic goals at Le Moyne.
