Southington Woman Charged With Making Up Domestic Incident: Police
The woman was served a warrant by police.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A local woman has been charged for what police are describing as a made-up domestic violence incident.
On Nov. 25, at anout 8:15 p.m., Shawnya Watson 32, of Southington, was arrested via warrant at her residence, police said. Watson was taken into custody without incident and was transported to police headquarters, where she was processed and charged with falsely reporting an incident in the second degree and two counts of second-degree false statement, police said.
Watson was released on a $1,000 non- surety bond and given a court date of Dec. 5 in Bristol, police said.

The warrant alleges that, on Nov. 15, Watson came to the Southington Police Department and reported that she was a victim of an assault in a domestic violence incident that took place five days earlier. Watson claimed she was physically assaulted by someone suspect during the domestic violence incident, according to the warrant.
Watson initially provided a signed, sworn statement regarding the incident and then later provided a
second statement recanting the first statement, police said.

The person Watson named in her initial statement was never arrested, police said.
