Southington Woman Charged With Manslaughter For Fatal Crash
The crash took place in April.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - A local woman has been charged with manslaughter in connection with a fatal motor vehicle crash in April.
Today at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Krista M. Pikora, 26, of Southington, surrendered at Southington police headquarters after learning there was a warrant for her arrest, according to a news release.
Pikora was charged with second-degree manslaughter, second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, driving under the influence, reckless driving and failure to drive right, police said.

Pikora was processed and held on a $150,000 court-set bond and was to face arraignment Thursday, police said.
The warrant was the result of an investigation of a fatal motor vehicle accident on April 30, police said.

The crash took place at 12:19 a.m. on West Center Street in Southington, according to police records.
According to the warrant, Pikora was operating her vehicle in the westbound lane of West Center Street, when she crossed the center line and struck a vehicle head-on in the eastbound lane of West Center Street.
The eastbound vehicle was operated by Brandon Caron and Kelly Brennan was the right front passenger, police said.
Caron died of injuries sustained in the crash and Brennan suffered serious injuries, according to the warrant.
Pikora was also transported from the scene with serious injuries, according to the warrant.
Police said medical records obtained by investigators indicated that Pikora was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs at the time of the accident.
