Southington YMCA Honoring Several In Community

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Tickets are on sale now for the Southington Community YMCA's biggest night, its 95th Annual Meeting & Awards Recognition Dinner.

The event itself is on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 5:30 p.m. at the Aqua Turf Club, 556 Mulberry St., in the Plantsville section of Southington.

There, community members are invited to honor the "YMCA Person of the Year" and recipients of the Y's Youth Development, Healthy Living, Social Responsibility, and Youth Leadership Awards.

Tickets are $50 per person and the deadline to order is Feb. 16.

"As always we have another great group of award winners this year. Their impact on Southington has been outstanding and all are worthy of recognition. Southington is blessed to have so many valuable leaders and businesses that give back for the betterment of the community," said Mark Pooler, chief executive officer of the Southington-Cheshire Community YMCAs.

The award winners are as follows:

• YMCA Person of the Year: Dan Daigle.

• Youth Development Award: Stephen Pintarick.

• Healthy Living Award: Southington Behavioral Health & Social Services Stakeholders' Group

• Social Responsibility Award: Tony Micacci

• Youth Leadership Award: Ava Egan and Cassidy Plourde
