Museum To Celebrate Halloween Oct. 29 In Southington

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The town's history museum is hosting a free Halloween extravaganza for families later this week that also honors a noted residents from generations past.

The Barnes Museum is hosting the second annual "Leila’s Halloween Birthday Bash" on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 1 to 3 p.m.

A free magic performance by award-winning magician Adam Parisi begins at 2 p.m.

Leila Barnes was born Oct. 31, 1884, and threw an annual Halloween-themed birthday party.

In her honor, The Barnes Museum will offer a free magic show, photo booth, lawn games and music on the historic Steinway player piano.

Trick or treating and free crafts will be offered by our community partners from the Southington YMCA, Southington Community Cultural Arts, Southington Community Health Outreach Project, Southington Library, the Early Childhood Collaborative of Southington and more.

The Barnes Museum is also offering a spooky movie night on the lawn with the 1942 film "Cat People."

Gates open Saturday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. with a $5 admission that can be paid at the gate.

The Halloween birthday bash is located at 85 N. Main St., Southington.
The parking lot and museum entrance can be accessed off of Riccio Way.
