Southington's 'Bread For Life' To Benefit From Berlin Store's Fundraiser

The event will dedicate a portion of the proceeds at a Berlin gift shop to a Southington organization that battles food insecurity.

SOUTHINGTON/BERLIN/WEST HARTFORD, CT — A Berlin gift shop run by a West Hartford nonprofit is hosting a special fundraiser this week to benefit a Southington nonprofit dedicated to combating food insecurity.

"Good Cause Gifts," located at 284 Main St., Berlin, will host a special fundraiser on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. to benefit Southington-based "Bread for Life."

A portion of your purchase proceeds will benefit Bread for Life, "a nonprofit that feeds, provides fellowship, affirms dignity, and builds connections to those experiencing food insecurity," according to event organizers.

All folks have to do is shop in the Berlin store and mention "Bread for Life" at check-out.

If you're shopping online at goodcausegifts.org on Dec. 4, write "Bread" in the comment box at checkout for proceeds to go toward Bread for Life.

Good Cause Gifts is a unique store in its own right, as it is operated by West Hartford-based Futures Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to helping those with physical and intellectual disabilities function in society through special employment opportunities, such as those at the gift store.

"Every purchase directly supports inclusive employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, empowering them to thrive in meaningful, community-based jobs," wrote Futures Inc. about Good Cause Gifts.
