Spooky Time Planned In Plantsville, What You Need To Know

The Village of Plantsville Association is hosting its annual 'Halloween in the Village' event Thursday.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A festive night can be expected in one local village Thursday night as all things Halloween will be celebrated for all guests attending.

And, the price of admission is pretty reasonable, too. It's free.

The Village of Plantsville Association is hosting its annual "Halloween in the Village" event Thursday, Oct. 27, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

This annual tradition stands to be a hopping good time, too, with the weatherman expected to cooperate Thursday night.

What's on the docket is enough to make anyone grab a costume and head for Plantsville.

Cue the scary music:

• A "scary Halloween party" is slated to take place at the Plantsville firehouse, with "lots" of treats.

• Participating Plantsville merchants will also have candy for the kids.

• Disney princesses will be making special appearances at Zingarella Pizzeria & Ice Cream Café, 83 W. Main St.

• There will be a costume contest based at Zingarella, with first- and second-place awards for "best overall," "most original" and "most frightening."

Winners will be announced at 7 p.m.

• Halloween music with a DJ.

• Karate demonstrations, dancing demonstration, stilt walkers, jugglers, magicians and clowns (not the scary kind).

• The Faith Living Church is hosting a family festival with snacks, games and entertainment.

In addition to the Village of Plantsville Association, the Halloween extravaganza is also being sponsored by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain and the Calvanese Foundation.
All children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
