Southington's Spring Street Bridge Project Timetable Released
The project in Southington is still conceptual but could received federal assistance.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Municipal officials have released a timetable for a project to to replace the Spring Street Bridge over the Quinnipiac River.
The project is still conceptual, but if undertaken, design work would begin in early 2018, with construction likely in 2019 or 2020, Town Manager Garry Brumback said.
The cost estimate is about $3.3 million, town officials said. The bridge replacement project would receive federal funds under the Federal Local Bridge Program administered by the Connecticut Department of Transportation to the tune of 80 percent reimbursement from federal aid with the remaining 20 percent coming from municipal funds.

The federal aid for the project was authorized under the federal Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act, town officials said.
