Southington's Top 30 Taxpayers

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The town's two major utilities sit atop the Top 30 taxpayer list for Southington's October 2021 Grand List.

Businesses are a major component of the personal property tax category on a municipality's tax rolls, officials said IN all, the Southington Grand List for 2021 totaled $4,586,919,685. That's $149,989,260, or 3.38 percent more than the 2020 list. Personal property totaled $304,079,771, up 4.33 percent.

"The personal property declaration is the tool that allows a municipality to appropriately and accurately value personal property in regards to business in town," town officials said in statements accompanying the Grand List Document.

Approximately 10 percent of all business locations account for more than 90 percent of the assessed value of business personal property, officials said.
