SOUTHINGTON, CT — The upcoming holidays will have Southington residents checking their calendars if they're planning to do business in town.

The town's offices and operations will close on the observed Christmas holiday on Monday, Dec. 26, according to the town's website.

Southington Town Hall and other municipal offices will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 27, through the end of the week.

Then, on Monday, Jan. 2, all town facilities will close for the observed New Year's Day holiday.

Meanwhile, the town has announced hours for municipal facilities in the days leading up to the holidays.

On Thursday, Dec. 22, they will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Then, on Friday, Dec. 23, they will be open from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

In the run-up to New Year's, town offices are open Thursday, Dec. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Friday, Dec. 30, they're open from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

For the Southington School System, Friday, Dec. 23, is an early dismissal day, with the holiday break being the following week, Dec. 26-Dec. 30 and Monday, Jan. 2.

Classes resume in Southington schools on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
