St. Luke School Pupils Have Revolutionary Experience
A Revolutionary War re-enactor recently worked with fifth-graders at the Southington Catholic school for a day of colonial fun.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Fifth-graders at a local Catholic school had a revolutionary experience learning about life before the Declaration of Independence.
St. Luke Catholic School's fifth-grade class was recently treated to a presentation by Revolutionary War re-enactor Tom Angels.

"The experience allowed the students to travel back in time and Colonial American History came alive," said St. Luke Principal Jim Messina in a release.
He said the visit by Angels, who is part of the 5th Connecticut Regiment, allowed students to make many connections and see their textbook knowledge demonstrated in the lives of our nation's predecessors.

"The school community is thankful to Mr. Angels, a graduate of St. Thomas School, for also serving on the School Board," Messina said.
