Supermarket Chain With Stores In CT Recalls Fudge Bars

A supermarket chain with outlets in Connecticut has recalled fudge bars.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Price Chopper and Market 32 Supermarkets are issuing a voluntary manufacturer recall by Fieldbrook Foods Corporation on 30-ounce PICS Fudge Bars with UPC 41735 09250. The manufacturer is recalling the products, "due to positive test results for suspected pathogens in the production environment," supermarket officials said.

Customers who have an affected product may return it to their local Price Chopper/Market 32 for a full refund.

Many of the customers who purchased these items have already been contacted through Price Chopper/Market 32’s SoundBite notification program, which uses purchase data and consumer phone numbers on file in connection with the company’s AdvantEdge (loyalty) card to alert those households that may have purchased the product in question.

Fieldbrook Foods is among the largest ice cream facilities in the U.S. and is capable of producing more than 120 million dozen of frozen novelties and 25 million gallons of ice cream annually, according to a company profile.
