Teen Arrested for Southington Gas Station Burglary
Police say they caught the suspect inside the station early Wednesday.

An 18-year-old Southington man is facing burglary and larceny charges in connection with the early Wednesday morning break-in at a Main Street gas station.
Neighbors called Southington Police about 12:45 a.m. to report a suspicious person was attempting to enter the front door of the Citgo station at 202 Main St., according to police. When officers arrived, they found a hole in the front glass door and Dominic Hamm inside the store holding multiple packs of cigarettes, police said.
Hamm was taken into custody without incident. A check of the interior showed that it appeared Hamm was going to steal cigarettes and cigars valued at $121.20, according to police.

Hamm was charged with third-degree burglary, criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny and second-degree criminal mischief. He was held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
Police said the monetary value of the damage to the front door of the store is unknown.
