Teen Motorcyclist Killed in Southington Crash
The fatal crash took place on Wednesday afternoon in Southington.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A teenage motorcyclist was killed Wednesday afternoon in Southington.
David Spinnanger, 19, of 655 Main St., Plymouth, was killed in the crash at the intersection of Tunxis Path and Marion Avenue, Southington police said.
According to a police report, at 4:22 p.m. on Wednesday, Spinnanger was operating a 2006 Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle and traveling southbound on Marion Avenue.

Spinnanger crossed the double yellow line and began passing vehicles on the left, police said. He then struck a northbound 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 on its rear, driver’s side quarter panel and rear bumper, police said.
Quentin Niles, 72, of 1985 West Street, Southington, was operating the truck, police said.

Spinnanger sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by ambulance, police said.
Spinnanger was later pronounced dead, police said.
Niles did not receive any injuries as a result of the accident, police said.
