According to the SFD, the infernos was "fully involved," which is firefighter lingo for "lots and lots of flames."

It was so bad, the home was in jeopardy of catching fire ... and on Thanksgiving no less.

But Southington firefighters were able to quickly douse the flames, saving the family home "with only minor damage to the exterior garage doors and siding."

The anonymous family was extremely grateful, writing on a Southington community social media page that the SFD, literally, saves more than their home, they "saved Thanksgiving."

As a result, turkey, trimmings, and pie were had at the home and the family and its guests were able to enjoy the holiday.

Hopefully, Christmas will be much less exciting on this street.
