Time To Dump Household Hazardous Waste

Regional collection event to take place in Bristol, with Southington residents eligible to freely dispose of various items.

Residents of several area town, including Southington, are eligible to freely dispose of household waste at a Bristol event on Saturday, Aug. 27.

The collection event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City of Bristol Public Works Garage, 95 Vincent P. Kelly Road, Bristol.

It is being hosted by Tunxis Recycling, which serves the towns of Berlin, Bristol, Burlington, New Britain, Plainville, Plymouth, Prospect, Southington and Wolcott.

Examples of household hazardous waste include non-empty aerosol cans, batteries, paint, varnishes, waste fuel, moth balls, mercury, among several other items.

Items should only come from households and business and contractor waste will not be accepted.
