Southington's Thanksgiving Closures, What You Need To Know

Southington schools, library, senior center and town offices are impacted by the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Turkey day preparation activities are ramping up in family households, but activity at the local municipal level is ramping down for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

Several local closures and impacts have been announced by the Town of Southington.

They are:

• The Southington Town Hall and John Weichsel Municipal Center will close on Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday Nov. 25.

All town offices will open as normal on Monday, Nov. 28.

• Meanwhile, the Southington Public Library will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday to start the holiday weekend.

It will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, for the holiday.
The library will reopen at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26.

• Southington school children will enjoy a little bonus time off compared to traditional Thanksgiving breaks, with schools closed on Wednesday, Nov. 23, Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, according to the school system's website.

Classes resume on Monday, Nov. 28.
